Donation from Gerard’s School, Lesotho
Friday 11th June was the charity sale of books for Gerard’s school, Lesotho. Many pupils brought in books of his/her choice to be sold, and in return they bought other books for only 50 pence. So thanks to this special day, we raised £262.12, which is a very good donation for Gerard’s School, Lesotho. The money will be used to buy books in Mafateng for St Gerard’s library. Thanks everybody for your participation !

Back to School

Posted by: webmaster on 31/08/2010 03:07
I hope that all pupils have had a great summer break. Just a reminder that school reopens to pupils on Monday September 6th. We expect to see all pupils in school on time, in correct uniform, raring to go for the new term ahead.

WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL
Welcome to Lakeside Primary School's website. We hope that you find all of the information interesting. If you wish to visit the school to find out more about us, please contact the Head Teacher, Mrs Counsell.

PTA NEWS
The first PTA meeting of the new school year will be held on Monday September 13th at 7pm in the staffroom. All parents of pupils at the school are welcome to come to the meeting.

Getting involved with the PTA enables parents new to the school to meet other mums and dads and some members of staff in an informal way. You will also have some fun whilst at the same time helping to raise money to help your child's school.

Please try and attend this first meeting when the programme for the term will be decided.

NEW NURSERY MURAL
I hope that parents have noticed the new mural on
the front wall of the Nursery. This has been a mammoth project coordinated by Mrs Jan Lima with a great deal of help from Jacquie Bond and Alison Underwood who have spent many hours helping with the design and painting. Thanks also to the volunteers who helped to put the mural on the wall.

TENNIS SUCCESS
The school continued its successful sporting year by winning the mixed 'Orange' South Wales tennis championship. The team of Harun Ghani, Rory Jones, Sophie Mungai and Caitlin Hockley won all of their group matches and then won the overall final, beating schools from all over South Wales. The pupils, all from Year 4, competed against players mainly from Year 5.

A NOTICE TO NURSERY PARENTS
Please could you ensure that your child arrives at Nursery on time – 9.00 in the morning and 12.45 in the afternoon. Many children arrive late to Nursery which causes disruption to the children’s activities. On the same note, would you please pick your child up at 11.30 in the morning and 3.15 in the afternoon. As late pick ups can upset the children. If you are going to be late for any reason, please could you ring the school to notify us.
